New International Version (©1984)
It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.

The youth from 2007 decided to name their group Refuge for the above quote. In 2009, the youth started a Facebook page for themselves.

Things Refuge has done:

New Orleans Mission Trip--July 2011: Wade, Britney, Ashley, Allen, Erni and Allen traveled 13 hrs. to stay at a Missions Family Center. During the day, Wade, Cam & Allen cooked 100 chicken sandwiches, 140 hamburgers, and more to feed the workers. The women helped out at the urban child care center.

Kentucky Christian University-- June 2011: Betsy and Samantha with Michael and Heather stay a 4-day weekend at KCU.

Park Springs Christian Retreat Center- Summer 2011, 2010, 2009: Long about September, there come the donuts, a poster and a pen. Students sign the poster saying they want to go to camp. A plea is made to the people and the people support the campers as they are willing and able. LOCC has helped 14-18 students go to camp every year since the campaign began.

Fill the Void--30 hr. famine: In a 30 hour famine, students choose to forgo food for 30 hours to raise money and awareness for the 29,000 children who die from hunger each day.
