Helping students to take ownership of a faith that lasts beyond high school.
LOCC Student Ministries provides a safe, energetic, and engaging atmosphere for middle school and high school students. Whether they are new to the whole "church thing" or have grown up in church, they will find "Refuge" to be just that - a safe place where students can be real to discuss who God is, and how He relates to the issues that they face every day.
Refuge meets on Sunday mornings from 10:00-10:50 and on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00. On Sunday mornings, our middle school and high school meet together for a lesson from God's Word. Wednesday evenings include games, a time of prayer, and an engaging message and small groups that are broken up by age.
Throughout the year, students are encouraged to participate in different events. Some of these events - like Summer in the Son (our high school camp), Middle School camp at Park Springs, the Carolina Christian Youth Conference, and mission trips - are designed for students to deepen their relationship with God. Other events - like our Youth Inc mobile lock-ins, camping trips, ski retreats, and trips to the amusement park - are designed for students to deepen their relationships with each other.
In order to participate in Refuge events, a current medical release form must be filled out. You can download one here.
